Medical Definition of Membrana statoconiorum
1. A gelatinous membrane supported by the hairs of the hair cells of the maculae of the saccule and utriculus of the inner ear; adhering to the surface are numerous crystalline particles called statoconia. Synonym: membrana statoconiorum, otolithic membrane. (05 Mar 2000)
