1. Alpha-(chloromethyl)-2-methyl-5-nitro-1h-imidazole-1-ethanol. A nitroimidazole antiprotozoal agent used in ameba and trichomonas infections. It is partially plasma-bound and also has radiation-sensitizing action. Pharmacological action: amebicides, antitrichomonal agents, radiation-sensitizing agents.
