1. An enzyme cleaving aminoacyl-l-proline bonds in dipeptides containing a C-terminal prolyl residue; a deficiency of this enzyme results in hyperimidodipeptiduria. Synonym: imidodipeptidase, peptidase D, prolidase. (05 Mar 2000)
