Medical Definition of Phenylethanolamine n-methyltransferase

1. A methyltransferase that catalyses the reaction of s-adenosyl-l-methionine and phenylethanolamine to yield s-adenosyl-l-homocysteine and n-methylphenylethanolamine. It can act on various phenylethanolamines and converts norepinephrine into epinephrine.
