Medical Definition of Phrenicosplenic ligament

1. A peritoneal fold (portion of the greater omentum) which extends from the diaphragm and the anterior aspect of the left kidney to the hilar region of the spleen, conducting the splenic vessels from the posterior body wall to the spleen. Synonym: ligamentum lienorenale, ligamentum phrenicolienale, ligamentum splenorenale, lienophrenic ligament, lienorenal ligament, ligamentum phrenicosplenicum, phrenicolienal ligament, phrenicosplenic ligament, phrenosplenic ligament, sustentaculum lienis.
