Medical Definition of Placentoma

1. An intrauterine mass of decidual tissue, probably the result of hyperplasia of decidual cells retained in the uterus. Synonym: placentoma. Loeb's deciduoma, mass of decidual tissue produced in the uterus, in the absence of a fertilised ovum, by means of mechanical or hormonal stimulation. (05 Mar 2000)
