Medical Definition of Treatment refusal
1. Refusal of a person to accept medical or psychiatric treatment or his unwillingness to comply with the physician's instructions or prescribed regimens. In the case of a legally incompetent person the concept may include a third party authorised to make decisions on his behalf. (12 Dec 1998)
