Medical Definition of Visceropannicular reflex

1. Contraction of the panniculus carnosus muscle in the cat and certain other animals, in response to a stimulus applied to an abdominal viscus; the centre for the reflex is in the spinal cord, the afferent pathway is the splanchnic nerves. (05 Mar 2000)
