Medical Definition of Leg lift

1. An exercise designed to strengthen the quadriceps muscles. The patient lies on their back and lifts one leg at a time with a slightly flexed knee joint. The application of light ankle weights can augment this exercise in those who have reached a desirable level of conditioning. (27 Sep 1997)
