Medical Definition of Leucotriene

1. A family of hydroxyeicosotrienenoic (HETE) acid derivatives in which the lipid moiety is conjugated to glutathione or cysteine. Members of the group are potent pharmacological mediators, for example SRS A, the slow reacting substance of anaphylaxis.
